10 WWE Storylines That Were Probably Racist

7. Shelton Benjamin vs. Yoshi Tatsu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA0QZTeaG2A Apparently, stuff rolls downhill in WWE. A full five years after being targeted by Orton, Shelton Benjamin openly mocked new Japanese superstar Yoshi Tatsu. In fact, the entire segment consisted of Shelton acting like a Japanese stereotype €“ bowing at everyone, threatening to call Godzilla, speaking in a badly overdubbed movie voice €“ before getting his head kicked off and pinned. Granted, Shelton€™s job was to get Yoshi over, and Matt Striker and Josh Matthews called Benjamin out for making a €œmockery€ of Tatsu, but this was so far over the top. Looks like the WWE€™s Be a STAR program came along two years too late to prevent this.
