Do yourself a favour and give Y2J's Talk Is Jericho podcast about his time in WCW a listen. In that episode, Jericho discussed his plans for a feud with Bill Goldberg in-depth and told how the headliner didn't see Chris on his level. It's a fascinating tale, and it became the basis for a WWE storyline in 2003.

On Raw, Jericho started talking about how things had changed since WCW. He was a former World Champion who had beaten stars like The Rock and Steve Austin in the same night. now an equal to Goldberg, Jericho wanted to bring things full circle by beating Bill at the upcoming Bad Blood pay-per-view.

At first, Goldberg was hesitant to accept, and that spoke of his real feelings about Y2J from back in the WCW days.

Following some typical WWE drama (including Lance Storm, Jericho's old tag partner, trying to run Goldberg over), the match was on. The writers knew what they were doing here, and it was smart. Including Y2J's rants about being the bigger WWE star and referencing how WCW had overlooked him gave Goldberg an easy, natural feud.
