10 WWE Street Fights That Actually Lived Up To The Name

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart - Monday Night 1997

Talk about authentic. Dressed in street clothes, these two men put on more of a brawl than a street fight that epitomised their rivalry and the definite shift to a more edgy product that was going on at the time. The match resulted in a no contest but don't let that fool you. The action was gritty, hard hitting and carried the story line along well. What would WWE give for something like this to come along today? Everyone remembers this rivalry for THAT shot of Stone Cold in the Sharpshooter with blood trickling down his face so this meeting goes under the radar somewhat. Even though it was a relatively short match, plenty happened. From the Hart Foundation's assault at the start, to Shawn Michaels' unexpected involvement, right the way through to Austin attacking Hart in an ambulance after all was said and done, it just felt real.
