10 WWE Studios Movies That Lost Millions

2. Bending The Rules (-$5,400,000)

Adam €œEdge€ Copeland has become a regular on the TV series Haven, but a few months before Haven premiered WWE Studios released the generic buddy cop comedy Bending The Rules, which starred Edge. Edge filmed the movie after his wrestling career ended prematurely due to neck injuries, and it was released shortly before Edge was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Edge co-starred with Jamie Kennedy, a comedian best known for starring in the movie Malibu's Most Wanted and his TV series The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. By the 2011 release of Bending The Rules, Kennedy was far from the peak of his popularity. Even more surprisingly, he played the straight man in the film despite his background in comedy. WWE Studios also probably should have reconsidered the decision to hire Artie Mandelberg to direct the film since he had already directed another bomb for WWE Studios, Knucklehead. As a result, not even Edge€™s Hall of Fame glory could save this movie from losing $5.4 million.
