I think The Miz gets a lot of unnecessary hate regarding his appearance in the WrestleMania XXVII main event. When he cashed-in his Money in the Bank briefcase at the end of 2010, Miz was one of the most engaging parts of the entire show, objectively looking at things. He deserved a run at the top, for sure. His pre-match WrestleMania XXVII video package is one of the best the company have ever produced, too.

2011 will always be remembered however for the epic battles between CM Punk and John Cena later in the year. Sure, if Punk and Cena had headlined WrestleMania XXVII then we would not have had Punk’s infamous cross-legged pipe bomb promo and the painfully-botched Summer of Punk, but I digress.

Punk and Cena was the classic feud of this generation, one that we didn't quite realise we needed until it happened. For me, it will go down as one of the greatest feuds of all time that didn’t result in a WrestleMania match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
