10 WWE SummerSlam Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania

2. CM Punk Vs. Brock Lesnar - 2013

One of the major gripes CM Punk had with World Wrestling Entertainment was the fact that he never headlined a WrestleMania. In fact, if you look at his WrestleMania history in general he is lacking in a truly memorable moment. His match against the Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 was excellent, but lacking in any true drama or intrigue.

His Money in the Bank wins were great too, but early in his career. Elsewhere Punk was involved in singles matches that went too short or had no real juice to them. By the same token, Brock Lesnar faced Triple H at WM 29 in a SummerSlam rematch that nobody really wanted to see.

Lesnar and Punk had an absolute barnstormer at SummerSlam 2013, and both men would have been better served with this match at the Show of Shows that year. I mean, the real truth is that the main event of WrestleMania 29 should have been CM Punk vs. John Cena and all that, but Once in a Lifetime just had to happen twice.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
