10 WWE SummerSlam Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania

WrestleMania IX was a mess, wasn't it? We could discuss the horrific main event situation, where qualified optometrist Hulk Hogan came out to nobly check on Bret Hart's salt-infested eyes only to coincidentally find himself with a WWF Championship opportunity, but I'd rather not think about it.

What about the rest of the card? Then Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels took on Tatanka in a match that was, well, alright and all, but nothing worth writing home about. Later on, 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig faced Lex Luger, with Perfect coming up short after being boffed in the face by Luger's metal forearm.

Immediately after that match a feud was sparked between Hennig and Michaels, begging the question why they didn't do that potential classic at WrestleMania. The card was crying out for a match to save it, and Curt Hennig vs. Shawn Michaels with the IC Championship on the line could have been that very match.

Saying that, when the match eventually happened it ended in a disappointing count-out.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
