10 WWE Superstars Badly In Need Of A Character Reboot

5. Fandango

Do you remember when Fandango made his WWE in-ring debut by soundly defeating future WWE Hall Of Famer Chris Jericho in a singles match at WrestleMania, of all places? Chris Jericho sure as hell would like to forget it. But the point is that at one time, WWE, and Vince McMahon in particular, had very high hopes for the character of Fandango. Formerly Johnny Curtis in NXT, the WWE rookie was given a ballroom dancing gimmick complete with numerous valets, a huge pyro display and a catchy entrance theme that took the world by storm for all of 30 seconds. While he caught the attention (and adoration) of fans for a short period of time, a poorly timed concussion along with an apparent loss of motivation from creative would eventually lead to a forgotten character. Anyone that has caught glimpses of the former Johnny Curtis on Total Divas, Swerved, or other non-traditional WWE programming can tell that he's a very charismatic guy and that his talents are being wasted in his current role. He's got the look, the body, the charisma and he has been in the WWE system for 10 years so a character reboot should definitely be considered. There is so much more that this guy can offer. While the character suffered a hard fall from the mid-card, giving Curtis a character that's allowed to talk more naturally and be taken more seriously could see his stock rise. Ditch the dancing but keep the ladies and turn him into a Rick Rude-esque ladies man character. Just one look at this guy and you can tell that gimmick would work for him. It certainly wouldn't be any worse than where Fandango has gotten him.
