1. Randy Orton
WWE.comNothing but respect to all the guys on the list, but if there is only one Mr. Summerslam, Its Randal Keith Orton. A lot of people think the guy is boring and that he has no sizzle, but the fact remains that he is one of the WWEs most talented superstars and has been performing at a very high level for them from a very young age. He went from the youngest member of Evolution in need of tutelage to one of the WWEs most reliable veterans inside the squared circle, and his history at Summerslam reflects that journey. His first ever Summerslam match was in 2003 (hes only missed the 2008 and 2012 Summerslams since) where he competed in the Elimination Chamber for the World Title, but ultimately lost, though his Evolution running mate Triple H was victorious. The next year he became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion of all time by defeating Chris Benoit at Summerlam. From there he went on to face The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, John Cena twice, Sheamus, Christian and most recently Daniel Bryan. All but two of those matches were for the WWE or World Championship, and only two of those performers have beaten him on the Summerslam stage (Hogan and Cena). His record at Summerslam is 6-3, his quality of opponents has been very high (three absolute legends in the business in Hogan, Undertaker and Cena, 2/3 of which he beat), and he set a record that still stands to this day back in 2004. Hes won 3 WWE/World Championships at Summerslam, hes never walked in as Champion and lost the title at the event and each passing year he just builds on his Summerslam legacy. The greatest moments and victories of Randy Ortons career arguably all came at Summerslam, and nobody else in the running for Mr. Summerslam can say that. Go back and watch the matches and you will see how he grew into the reliable professional that he is today, each passing year gaining more confidence and experience. Congratulations to the Mr. Summerslam, Randy Orton! The moniker is yours until someone else takes it.
