10 WWE Superstars Who Could Call Themselves "Mr Summerslam"

10. Bret €œThe Hitman€ Hart

WWE.comWWE.comAny list of the superstars who could conceivably call themselves Mr. Summerslam that didn€™t feature Bret €œThe Hitman€ Hart would simply be incomplete. The WWE Hall Of Famer has a stellar resume at the annual summer event including a great win loss record of 7-3. His claim to the name goes beyond his fantastic record. Bret competed at the first Summerslam in 1988, alongside his Hart Foundation tag team partner Jim €œThe Anvil€ Neidhart. The duo lost their tag team match to another iconic WWE tag team, Demolition. Those are two of the WWE€™s greatest tag teams of all time going toe to toe in what has become one of the WWE€™s biggest events, and while Bret and his partner didn€™t pick up the victory in 1988, in 1990 The Hart Foundation would defeat Demolition at Summerslam to capture the WWF Tag Team Titles. In the subsequent Summerslams, Bret would go on to capture the Intercontinental title by defeating Mr. Perfect in 1991, main event the summer extravaganza in 1992 defending the Intercontinental Title in a losing effort against the British Bulldog live from Wembley Stadium in London, defeating his brother Owen in a 32 minute cage match to retain the WWF Title in 1994, and defeating The Undertaker to capture the WWF Title in 1997. If that wasn€™t enough, he€™d make his Summerslam return thirteen years later in 2010 and help team WWE defeat The Nexus. Bret Hart has put on many a show at Summerslam and certainly belongs in the discussion for the moniker Mr. Summerslam.
