10 WWE Superstars Who Were Forgiven For Joining TNA
5. Mick Foley
Mick Foley was Cactus Jack, one of the most dangerous and insane wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots. He was death defying, fearless and without equal in the ring. He took risks that no one else would and he did it all on his own terms. While he gained a measure of fame, it was nothing compared to what he would find in WWE. In WWE Mick was allowed to stretch, to flex his creative muscles. He became Mankind, a dark and disturbed character that spoke in riddles and left a creepy vibe with every promo he cut. Foley also became the fun loving Dude Love, who had a smile on his face and a party in his heart. Foley's characters each became an extension of himself and he achieved major notoriety as a three time WWE champion. Foley appeared to be a lifer in WWE, place that he was ultimately very comfortable inhabiting. But all of that changed in 2008, when Mick left WWE after a short stint as commentator. He went to TNA, taking that hardcore reputation and his WWE success with him. Foley spent three years in the promotion, where he worked various talents like Sting, Kurt Angle and Abyss. He even became the TNA world champion and was heavily featured on TV. Like many of the former WWE stars that came onboard, Foley was always well received during his TNA run. He did some good work for them and he lent his intelligence on the mic to hype his own matches as well as the company as a whole. And as he did with other stars that wanted to return, Vince McMahon took Mick Foley back. The fact is that if any bad blood did exist on either side, it was forgotten so they could do business once again. Foley's time in TNA is now nothing but a memory for some fans while his legacy in WWE is as powerful as it ever was.
