10 WWE Superstars Who Were Forgiven For Joining TNA

7 & 6. Road Dogg And Billy Gunn

In WWE, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn were one of the most entertaining tag teams on the roster. As part of D-X, The New Age Outlaws brought irreverent humor and solid tag team work to every match they were booked in. And in TNA, they did exactly the same thing. Road Dogg had been working in TNA for two years when Billy Gunn debuted in 2005 and it was only logical to put the two men back together. TNA did just that, as they first worked in the 4Live Kru then later as The James Gang. The duo entertained as they always had before and for fans that had followed them since they worked in WWE, it was definitely a continuation of what they were accustomed to. But it was in 2006 that Gunn and Dogg made real waves in TNA. They began cutting promos against their former company, one of them even emanated outside of WWE headquarters in Connecticut. They mentioned their former D-X teammates Triple H and Shawn Michaels by name, even challenging them to a match. Vince's name was also bandied about and The James Gang became The Voodoo Kin Mafia, a take on Vincent Kennedy McMahon. The VKM's work on the mic was as edgy as any could be in the modern era and while it did not bring huge ratings to TNA, it did make for some interesting moments for their fans. Dogg and Gunn were pro TNA all the way and did everything they could to stir the pot against WWE. And Vince McMahon still allowed them to return. 2012 saw the comeback of The New Age Outlaws, a comeback that saw them work in the ring occasionally until 2014, when they returned on a regular basis. They became the WWE tag team champions and were involved in a top storyline in the company. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn had come full circle in their careers and it was WWE's willingness to forgive and forget that laid the groundwork for it to happen.
