10 WWE Superstars Who Had Near Death Experiences

5. John "Bradshaw" Layfield

In 2012, former WWE Champion and current WWE commentator John "Bradshaw" Layfield set out to climb the famous Seven Summits" which are Russia's Mount Elbrus, Tanzania's Kilimanjaro, Indonesia's Carstensz Pyramid, Nepal's Everest, Argentina's Aconcagua, Antarctica€™s Mount Vinson and Mount McKinley in Alaska. His quest nearly ended before he could complete the first mountain. He made it to 1000 feet off the summit of Mount Elbrus, before a giant storm forced his team from the mountain. While scaling the mountain, he contracted frostbite and hypoxia, but luckily the frostbite wasn't severe and the hypoxia symptoms dissipated when they left the mountain. This didn't dissuade JBL from his quest, and while he hasn't yet finished the Seven Summits as he rejoined WWE, but he still managed to tackled Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua by Spring 2013 and it wouldn't be surprising if he decided to head back to tackle a fourth summit some time in the near future.
