10 WWE Superstars Who Were Probably Scientologists

7. The Goodfather - WWF, 2000-2001

Similar to the aforementioned Simon Dean, when World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon decided that right-wing media censors the Parents Television Council (PTC) were making his brand's development into a living hell, he decided to blend a mix of his racier and more wholesome characters into a heel stable, the RIght To Censor (RTC). Stevie Richards was kind of floundering at this point. Val Venis abandoning pornography was already kind of happening as his wrestling success grew. As well, Bull Buchanan was a prison guard friend of the Big Bossman. Ivory and Molly Holly, both relatively benign on the "sex" scale, Ivory known for inexplicably waving a scarf and Molly Holly being the syrupy sweet fellow cousin of Hardcore and Crash Holly. But The Goodfather? Yeah, he's a Scientologist for sure. The move from "pimpin' hoes nationwide to covering up scantily clad divas so empowered Charles Wright that he added an extra "o" to his name and became "The Goodfather." It's actually a shame that Scientology wasn't actually a part of the RTC gimmick. Imagine if Steven Richards as a corrupt Scientology minister had claimed that he would crush the impure thetans in his opponents, and he wanted to celebrate this amazing accomplishment by adding a symbolic "o" to his name. Or...wait...maybe not. But yeah...the "Goodfather?" Can't you totally see him chilling out with John Travolta?
