Bobby Lashley was on pace to become the next big star in WWE when he abruptly left the company in 2008 after being on the shelf for six months due to an injury. Lashley had talent to spare, but he was pushed to the top way too fast. His meteoric rise was hampered by a lack of mic skills and WWE trying to make up for other losses from the roster by pushing the first guy who came along who could match power with John Cena. It's not WWE's fault that he got injured, but putting him in a top spot too early could have contributed to it. After only four years in the business, he just wasn't ready for the rigors of what his position demanded. With a better build and more time to improve his game, Lashley could have become one of WWE's most valuable assets by now. It's unlikely that WWE would care enough about him after a six year absence to sign him again, but there is always the possibility that he could make a return if the timing and conditions were right for both parties.
I have been a writer for Bleacher Report for several years, and am now happy to also be a writer at What Culture! I do my best to contribute anywhere I can in a positive way, and that includes in my writing. Some people call me The Doctor, but Chris is fine.
