Will he or won't he? Progress has been made in the relations between Punk and WWE after they struck up a deal last month to continue to sell his merchandise on their site. Does this mean the Cult of Personality is any closer to a return to the ring? That's anyone's guess. The latest news comes from a close friend of Punk, former UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen. Speaking to Jim Ross on his own podcast, Sonnoen said he recently asked Punk if he was ever going back to WWE. Punk apparently answered by saying no, never. Chael added that he didnt know if Punk was working him or being truthful. Punk has been known to play games like this before. In July, during a brief interview with Chris Van Vliet on the red carpet at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Punk was asked if there was a chance we would ever see him back in WWE, he replied: "No, never ever, never ever ever." Punk was smirking throughout his answer and followed it up with: "They're (WWE Universe) going to go crazy about that on Twitter and they're going to hold me to it. Yeah whatever." This suggests he was of course joking but there seems to be no end in the confusion surrounding his future. Videos were released recently showing Punk, real name Phil Brooks, working on his MMA skills. He helped Gracie Breakdown analyse the One-handed Guillotine choke that Luke Rockhold used to submit Michael Bisping. So which will he pick, the squared circle or the octagon?
