10 WWE Superstars Who Tarnished Their Legacy

Some wrestlers just don't know when to quit.

WWE has its faire share of legends. The WWE hall of fame is stacked with superstars who have left an indelible legacy in the sport and each year WWE makes a point to hype the next batch of superstars who are inducted alongside the illustrious bunch. Most wrestlers see it as the ultimate honour and proudly wear their hall of fame rings and give tearful speeches at the ceremony. But wrestlers, even hall of famers, have a habit of not knowing when to say goodbye to the spotlight. They crave the attention of the fans and for some it is the only thing they know how to do. Others are casualties of the business or are their own worst enemy and must continue wrestling in order to support themselves after they blow all of the money they made. There are few things sadder than seeing a once great wrestler continue to step through the curtain and get into the ring when they cannot perform to the standard the crowd expects of them. Some wrestlers don't care and see it as another payday but to their fans it can be heartbreaking. Wrestlers are also prone to making alarming comments in public and acting in ways that are not acceptable in normal society. Spending too much time in the wrestling business can alter your perception of reality and many wrestlers seemingly live in their own little world. The wrestling lifestyle has also led many all-time greats to drug and alcohol abuse and severe personal problems. Whether it's because they don't want to or simply can't say goodbye to wrestling, not knowing when to step away inevitably tarnishes their legacy. Whatever the reason may be, the outcome is never pretty.
