10 WWE Superstars That Would've Thrived In The Hulkamania Era

9. Fandango

At the risk of stating the obvious, Fandango was the latest version of the arrogant, good-looking-and-he-knows-it, ladies man character that's been a WWE staple since Ravishing Rick Rude began delivering Rude Awakenings back in the late-1980s. What The Ravishing One and "The Model" Rick Martel did in the Hulkamania era, Shawn Michaels took to the next level during the New Generation.

In 2013, Fandango was primed to follow in their footsteps with a similar character, spearheaded by Vince McMahon himself, that included introductory vignettes, a dancing valet and elaborate entrance, and a successful debut at WrestleMania over Chris Jericho. This Fandango stepped right off the pages of 1990 and would've made for a great character in WWE's golden age!

But the spotlight that shined bright early on dimmed significantly after a jolting introductory push that was, perhaps, too much too fast. An unlucky concussion in a match against Zack Ryder derailed Fandango's rumored run as Intercontinental Champion, and he's only recently been given an opportunity to regain that momentum, thanks to Breezango and The Fashion Files.

While 'Dango's current persona is more appropriate for WWE in 2017, the original rainbow-tights wearing, slow-speaking, ballroom dancing narcissist would definitely have had a place in the WWF during the 1980s.
