'Taker's trip to the darker side of the Dark Side in 1999 should have taken him to the top of the company right away. He was targeting Mr. McMahon's family and his Ministry was embarrassing The Corporation, so his Hell In A Cell match with Big Boss Man was an underwhelming use of his character at the marquee event.

Looking back, it would have made more sense if he'd gotten involved in the program between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Not only was Vince also heavily involved in this one, 'Taker would subsequently end up winning the title shortly after 'Mania anyway and go on to feud with both Austin and The Rock separately.

Speaking of those two, Austin and Rock faced each other three times at WrestleMania, but this one was arguably the weakest in terms of match quality. It wasn't bad, but it paled in comparison to everything that came next. Adding 'Taker to the mix would have added more drama to the story, intensity to the action and allowed 'The Phenom' to face off against the two biggest stars he never met at 'Mania. And it would certainly have been a better place for him on the card than the underwhelming cell bout.
