From all reports, the €˜Ravishing Russian€™ Lana used to be Vince McMahon€™s favourite Diva. A non-wrestler, she found herself earmarked for a level of protection not seen since Trish Stratus in 2002, and was sent for wrestling training in the Performance Centre. The implication was that Vince had found his next serious Divas Champion, he just needed to get the talent behind the character ready for that push. Unfortunately, that talent - real name C.J. Perry - has a habit of putting her foot in her mouth. Turned babyface and placed with Dolph Ziggler in that godawful love rhombus storyline with Rusev and Summer Rae, the whole angle was delayed when she injured her wrist and then cancelled completely when she leaked the fact of her real-life engagement to Rusev, at a time when they were supposed to be mortal enemies. Despite the fact that kayfabe has been dead for a long, long time, and that recent WWE Network shows like Table For Three and Ride Along clearly display heels and babyfaces as friends out of character, it was decided that Lana had transgressed the unwritten wrestlers€™ code. Her recent online outburst against Paige and airport shouting match with Rusev both making headlines seem to have sealed the deal against her. As it stands at present, Lana is barely even visible on television with the man she supposedly represents, and was singled out for a scathing onscreen verbal smackdown by The Rock in his latest appearance for the company.
