10 WWE Superstars Who Are Nothing Like Their Gimmicks In Real Life
1. Kane
The gimmick: Where, oh where, do we start with Kane?
Kane arrived on the scene in 1997, debuting as Paul Bearer’s illegitimate child who’d somehow survived the aforementioned arson attack of his half-brother, The Undertaker. As such, this hulking seven-footer had a permanently scarred face which he covered with a mask, whilst he’d also lost the use of his vocal chords.
Admittedly, he’d later find his voice, and after de-masking in 2003 it turns out his face wasn’t so scarred, although apparently his soul very much was. Over the years, we’ve seen a demented Kane set people on fire, abduct fellow colleagues, get married, get divorced, and leave his father for dead in a meat locker.
In real life: For everybody’s sake, it’s a good job Glenn Jacobs is nothing like Kane in real life.
Away from all the hellfire and brimstone stuff, Jacobs is happily married with a couple of daughters. He owns his own insurance agency in Knoxville, TN, is a proponent of libertarian ideas and Austrian economics, and most recently decided to run for the mayoral seat of Knox County.
From a big, red, battle-scarred monster to a politically-minded libertarian family man, you won’t find much more of a contrast than that.
