This year's Royal Rumble brought with it one of the most unexpected turns of events ever to grace WWE's signature over-the-top-rope show.

Following on from a rather bitter break-up, involving the star's belongings being sent to her in a trash bag upon being let go from Vince McMahon's company last April, the announcement of the current reigning Impact Knockouts Champion being one of this year's Rumble entrants sent shockwaves around the wrasslin' world.

As it goes, Hardcore Country surprise and Impact title strap-boasting aside, Mickie James' cameo was a sweet but eventually relatively short affair, bowing out of the match after 11-minutes. And while James herself appears to have gained some closure when it comes to her aforementioned embarrassing exit and presentation throughout her last run in the company, the star doesn't appear to be fully against one last run in the company under her hugely popular Impact gimmick - should both promotions come to a similar agreement in the future.

Both parties have clearly kissed and made up. So, similarly to Lita, James could both pop an always-rampant post-'Mania crowd and give a star of tomorrow the rub in what could be her genuine last hurrah within Vinnie Mac's empire.
