5. Roman Reigns
Amid all the talk of balls taken home and dinner stolen from tables, has Roman Reigns finally, quietly, babyfaced himself with the WWE Universe?
Long since presented as a babyface and rejected by fans you’d think serious, career and life threatening illness would be enough to turn the tide.
And so it did, for a bit. Then the boos started up again from sections of the live crowd. A WrestleMania showdown with Drew McIntyre played to crickets.
Recently though, things seem to be improving. In interviews he’s been nothing but magnanimous when asked about former Shield brother Jon Moxley. It’s put him in stark contrast with third member Seth Rollins’ much derided comments on the subject.
’The Big Dog’ has backed up his well chosen remarks with a string of consistently good matches. It’s a show don’t tell approach that Rollins would do well to copy.
He’s also being booked better. Putting Roman alongside fan favourites like Kevin Owens and The Undertaker, WWE have finally found a way to give Reigns a rub without rubbing fans up the wrong way.
Is it time to pull the trigger on a Roman title reign the WWE Universe can really get behind?
