Rewind slghtly to the tail-end of 2015, and Sheamus was riding high as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase at the Survivor Series show, he defeated Roman Reigns to become the new titleholder.

It quickly became evident that he was a mere placeholder.

Killing time before the Royal Rumble began 'WrestleMania Season', the reign of Sheamus was ended in mid-December by the same man he had beaten to win the title.

From there, the big Irishman looked on as Roman Reigns and Triple H became the focal points of the World Title picture. Meanwhile, he formed a mid-card stable.

Known as the League Of Nations, Sheamus joined forces with Rusev, 'King' Barrett and Alberto Del Rio. The group had momentum (every faction does when it starts), but they were booked to be mere pawns rather than kings on the roster.

Now, it looks like the League is about to be over sooner rather than later. This leaves Sheamus, once again, in total limbo. Where he goes from here is anyone's guess, and he's not alone.
