10 WWE Superstars Who Desperately Need New Entrance Theme Music

8. Murphy

Here’s hoping the Buddy returns one day. The Australian star seems to be WWE’s latest project, a supremely talented performer who has the ability to get over through match quality alone. Murphy has joined forces with Seth Rollins and the AOP in RAW’s latest faction, which bodes well for the former Cruiserweight Champion, but the memories of Cedric Alexander’s ‘push’ are still fresh. Until Murphy is solidified in the upper echelons of RAW, the jury remains out.

His tag team with Rollins has meant that Murphy has been making his way to the ring to the Monday Night Messiah’s raucous theme, but sooner or later he will be walking on his own feet. Murphy’s current theme is little more than Angry Rock Theme 101, a faceless mix of drums and distorted guitars that carry little in the way of energy, personality or interest. It is the sort of thing that a band plays before actually beginning a rehearsal.

Murphy is a hugely talented individual who could make serious waves in WWE. Does that mean WrestleMania main events? The future will judge that, but a solid presence in the upper-midcard and secondary championship reigns are as assumed as they are hoped. Can you imagine the WWE Intercontinental Champion making his way to the ring with such an aimless, anonymous theme? No, no you can’t.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
