10 WWE Superstars Who Didn't Debut As Wrestlers

6. Diamond Dallas Page

First Appearance: 1 April 1990

Official Debut: 18 June 2001

DDP was indeed in the business in 1990, making his way as a manager and commentator in the old AWA and the original FCW. He auditioned for and failed to land a commentary gig for the WWF in 1990, but at least they liked his car, a garishly pink vintage Cadillac, the very same vehicle mentioned in Honky Tonk Man's self-performed theme song. So it was that DDP had his very first WrestleMania moment, chauffeuring Honky, Greg Valentine, and Jimmy Hart to the ring for a non-match with The Bushwhackers.

DDP obviously had a Hall of Fame career, but he didn't return to WWE until WCW folded in 2001. Although his career there never came close to reaching the heights it had in his home promotion, he did get a chance to redeem his inauspicious debut. At WrestleMania X-8, he had his one and only WrestleMania match, successfully defending his one and only championship in WWE, and he did it in the very same building in which he once played third fiddle to a bloated Elvis impersonator.
