10 WWE Superstars Who Gambled On A Brand New Finisher

4. Seth Rollins

Long before Seth Rollins was buried by his own Twitter patter rather than the company itself, he was an extremely popular babyface trying to stay afloat in a company that doing little to protect and preserve his integrity. At various points, they actively chipped away at what he'd created.

Such was the case in 2016 when the company decided to ban his Curb Stomp finisher for fears of it being too easy to copy in playgrounds and homes. What followed was a challenging period of transition for 'The Architect' as tried to tie some logic to his increased use of Triple H's Pedigree after definitively defeating his former mentor in their passable WrestleMania 34 clash.

When this didn't really take, he threw knee after knee after knee as WWE came up with name after name after name, until the company bewilderingly just gave him back what they'd taken away in the first place. Typical of their bloat, the move is in a worse position now than when it was shelved - its spamming at SummerSlam and Hell In A Cell in 2019 rendered it less relevant than when it was shelved completely.
