10 WWE Superstars Who Gambled On A Brand New Finisher

2. The Undertaker

Undertaker's gradual evolutions over the years have helped contribute to the longevity of a character that could have otherwise been sunk like one of the many monsters he slayed early in his own run. The inclusion of his laughable "Taker Care Of Business" submission hold was not one of those moments.

It was noble, in a way. Undertaker had done everything he could think of to try and get boos after a rushed 2001 heel tun, going as far as chopping his hair and targeting universally beloved babyfaces such as Jim Ross, Rob Van Dam and The Rock just to try and seem like a bigger piece of sh*t to a crowd that had previously adored him.

There was method to the madness - submissions are often crueller, slightly more boring, or both, but this simply didn't stick.

Years later, 'The Deadman' would do a pretty serviceable job of converting to the gogoplata from confusing to conclusive as men and up and down the roster spat blood for the good of the cause, but few were buying his submission specialist schtick several years earlier.
