10 WWE Superstars Who Gambled On A New Look

3. The Undertaker's Badass New 'Do

If I was at one of those Undertaker meet-and-greets, the first thing I'd ask, before steeling myself to confront the profound, Nando's-crumbed disinterest, is: 'Taker, why did you grow your hair back long?

At WrestleMania XXVII, in a great prologue match, the Undertaker won an official battle but lost a grander war to Triple H. The next year, after never once removing his hood in the build, the Dead Man finally did so at 'Mania XXVIII, backed by a crackle of lightning, to reveal a new, symbolic change: a badass-looking, short mohawk.

Beyond the symbolism of a renewed soul, this look also doubled as a workaround for male pattern baldness, which, in the heat of his most epic battles, looked as much Kingpin as they did WrestleMania. He worked this into a storyline, appeasing Jim Cornette, but soon reverted to his old, '80s/'90s rocker look just two years later, perhaps as a means of banishing the image of the man who lost so comprehensively to Brock Lesnar in 2014. This choice came to haunt him, at the first Crown Jewel event, at which a knackered 'Taker failed to blow his hair away from his eyes.

Taker's own hair put up more of a fight than Diamond Dallas Page had in 2001.
