10 WWE Superstars Who Had Shockingly Long Tenures
3. Hercules
Hercules, much like his aforementioned tag team partner Paul Roma, lasted seven straight years in the WWE. Unlike his tag team partner, Hercules found his way on to 20 straight pay-per-views from WrestleMania II to Royal Rumble 1992 inclusive. This is an impressive feat for someone, who much like a number of other folks on this list won and challenged for exactly zero WWE championships.
Hercules had a promising start to his WWE career competing in a losing effort against Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania II, and competing in a winning effort against Billy Jack Haynes at WrestleMania III. He also holds the distinction of being the first wrestler to lose to the Ultimate Warrior on pay-per-view, in an awful match at WrestleMania IV. Hercules then put his career in neutral for a few years (despite appearing on all big shows) until teaming with Power and Glory where they would receive an initial push before being relegated to jobber status.
Hercules ended his WWE career unceremoniously by lasting less than a minute in the Royal Rumble 1992 and losing a match to Sid Justice at MSG which is famous for Hercules no selling all of Justice's offence including his signature powerbomb.
Post WWE Hercules appeared briefly in New Japan working in an awesomely named tag team with Scott Norton known as the 'Jurassic Powers', winning the IWGP tag team titles once. While he may not have been a household name, he lasted seven straight years in the WWE, managing to find his way on all of the pay-per-views in that time period. From that perspective Hercules career can be seen as a success. Tragically, Hercules would die in his sleep at the age of 47 in 2004.
