Vince McMahon has been in the wrestling, sorry, the sports entertainment business for a very long time. He first joined his fathers WWWF as a ring announcer in 1969, and in 1982 he completed the purchase of the company of which hes been chairman ever since. McMahon must be applauded for his efforts as a promoter, as he took wrestling out of the bingo halls and into the stadiums. It was his canny business strategy that made Hulk Hogan a household name, and his belief in his stars was what ultimately won the Monday Night War with WCW. Unfortunately, Vince McMahon is just shy of seventy years old and his recent appearance on the Stone Cold podcast proved how out of touch he is with his viewers. He defended Raws meandering thirty-minute opening promos, and blamed millenials and their lack of ambition for what he saw as a thin roster. As a fan of wrestling its disheartening to hear the man in charge openly dismiss so much of the roster. The recent NXT specials success only showed how good wrestling can be, and how Raw is nowhere near that and if WWE wants to get back to the heights it once was, Vince McMahon needs to let go of the wheel.
