10 WWE Superstars Who Must Retire In 2016

7. Sting

Sting made history in 2015 as, for the first time in his thirty-year career, he competed in a WWE ring. At WrestleMania, he took on Triple H in a featured bout, and at Night of Champions, he faced WWE Champion Seth Rollins in the main event. During the latter match, the 56-year-old Sting was badly injured, hurting his neck and having difficulty finishing the bout. Since then, his future has been up in the air, but this week, "The Vigilante" revealed that he will need to undergo surgery for spinal stenosis, the same ailment that ended the careers of Steve Austin and Edge. Sting wasn't specific about what sort of operation he'll need, but it's safe to assume that, whatever it is, it'll prevent him from working for a while - including at WrestleMania this year. Sting has nothing left to prove or earn in wrestling. If he's physically able to, he should have one final match - maybe a retirement bout at SummerSlam - then ride off into the sunset.
