10 WWE Superstars Who Need To Revert To Their Old Gimmick

9. 'The Drip God' Seth Rollins Back To 'The Architect' Seth Rollins

After a horrendous 2019, it has taken Seth Rollins a little while to make his way back.

In the last year, Rollins has proven himself to be the in-ring general that WWE always pegged him as. From his awesome feud with Edge to the magnificent trilogy with Cody Rhodes, The Visionary has legitimised himself as one of, if not, the best in-ring competitor in the company. It's great to see that being recognised, not just by the fans, but in the positions he finds himself within WWE.

But Seth's snarky, cackling, preposterous suit-wearing gimmick needs to go.

In early 2019, in the lead to his Royal Rumble victory and eventual toppling of Brock Lesnar, the Drip God was getting the cheers WWE had always wished for Roman Reigns. He was the people's choice of The Shield, and it felt like the company had finally managed to build a bankable babyface. Then they tried to turn him, as they do with all babyfaces, into John Cena. It didn't work and it's been a long road back.

And he feels so close.

The Drip God gimmick just undercuts how seriously we can take Seth. The promo he delivered from the stands in the run up to his final bout with Rhodes was fire and showed the potential of a Rollins who was focused more on being the best than being the most irritating. Yes, it's made him bullet proof to defeats, but it has also made him ineligible as the top guy. As 'The Architect', he could very well be.
