10 WWE Superstars Who Need To Revert To Their Old Gimmick
4. Happy Corbin Back To Baron Corbin
There is a case to be made that Corbin is one of the more underappreciated stars on the WWE roster.
Good moveset, decent mic skills and willingness to show ass, the guy has carved out a good spot on the roster. When his storyline saw him fall upon tough times, there was a real sense of an organic, and much needed, face turn happening, especially when Kevin Owens showed some empathy. Then he suddenly won loads of money and became an idiot.
The 'Happy' Corbin character has run its course. There is no storyline purpose to it anymore, and the goofy shenanigans with Madcap Moss had a decent pay-off that has made Moss feel legit. It's time to give the same care and attention to Corbin.
Bring back the metal intro, the darker aesthetic and the 'Lone Wolf' persona of old, and let Corbin function as a dangerous big guy near the top of the card. I'm not saying give him the belt, but for any would-be babyface challengers waiting in the wings, overcoming a dangerous big man like Corbin, as opposed to goofy oaf that is Happy Corbin would do a lot more for them.
Wouldn't Drew McIntyre vs Baron Corbin been a little more intense if it wasn't based on Corbin being an irritant and stealing the Scot's sword?
