At June 2002's Jersey J-Cup independent wrestling tournament, CM Punk wrestled Reckless Youth, and during the match, fractured his skull. The result of a neck-breaker gone wrong, Punk was advised to not even exercise for a year, but he returned to wrestling two months later. Even a year and a half following the injury, Punk suffered from vertigo, loss of balance and spinal fluid leaking from his ear.
