10 WWE Superstars Who Should Have Been Pushed Harder
10. Shelton Benjamin
If there was ever an athlete who was a natural between the ropes, it was Shelton Benjamin. The former Golden Gopher was one of the most talented wrestlers during his run with WWE, but his lack of charisma and a gimmick that connected with fans kept him in the mid-card scene for his entire run. Benjamin was brought in as part of Team Angle with Charlie Haas, and the two made up one of the more exciting tag teams in the division. They combined amazing technical ability with high-flying offense to put on some of the best matches. When Benjamin went off on his own, things looked very bright. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMKxYoFzAjg He had some high-profile matches against big names like Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels, but he eventually found himself paired with an overweight woman who was supposed to be his sassy mama and forced into a bad comedy character. He broke away from that image, but it was too late to salvage his career in WWE. Benjamin was one of those wrestlers who has so much talent inside the ring that his lack of skills on the mic should not have mattered. He could steal the show with just about anybody, and he often did. He has a good career on the independent scene, but he should have been treated better during his WWE run.
