10 WWE Superstars Who Should Have Been Pushed Harder
9. Finlay
Fit Finlay is one of those old school wrestlers who had a long enough career to still be remembered by the new generation. He was known as a legit tough guy, and he backed up that reputation by being a true brawler in every sense of the word. Finlay helped put over some of the top stars in the company by providing them with a hard-fought victory, but he never really found his way into the main event scene. It's possible he got to WWE after his time had passed to be a world champion, but Ric Flair was winning titles into his early '50s, so there was still a possibility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_wBZCx1bIU The problem is that Finlay had the same issue Taz had. He possessed all the skills to be a top contender, but he didn't have the right look. Finlay is a barrel-chested man who looks like he belongs in a quarry swinging a sledgehammer, not in a ring applying hammerlocks. Some wrestlers have defied the odds, but you usually don't see guys who look like Finlay holding the WWE title. Nowadays he helps the talent in a backstage role, but there's no denying that Finlay could have been a lot more successful in WWE had he been booked based on his talent and not Vince McMahon's idea of what a wrestler should look like.
