10 WWE Superstars Who Should Switch Brands In 2017
7. Kalisto
It’s anyone’s guess why Kalisto was drafted to Smackdown LIVE. With no tag team partner, and no Cruiserweight division to compete in, the former Lucha Dragon has become the blue brand’s resident whipping boy since the Brand Split. Most recently, he’s been involved in a bizarre feud with Dolph Ziggler, in which righteous babyfaces Kalisto and Apollo Crews fought the dastardly Dolph Ziggler… in a two on one handicap match. Seen only as a minor road block when building feuds for larger stars, Kalisto is stuck in a thankless role, and needs a new place to show off his high-flying skills.
By injecting Kalisto into the Cruiserweight division, 205 Live would have access to another recognisable face, someone familiar in a sea of untested prospects. Even if they used Kalisto as just another way to build up-and-coming heels, he’d be in a better position than he's in now. At least he’d be working with wrestlers who are matched to his skillset, and opponents who could believably sell his offense.
It’s not like Smackdown would even miss having a high-flyer around. AJ Styles, one of the most proficient high-flyers in the world, is one of the brand’s hottest stars, and rarely a Smackdown minute goes by without Mauro Ranallo shouting “Tope suicida!” as yet another Superstar attempts a death-defying leap to the outside.
