10 WWE Superstars Who Went From Hero To Zero In A Heartbeat

3. Nikki A.S.H

WWE hitting the panic button is nothing new, but it’s not often we see them devise, debut, and destroy an idea as quickly as this. Nikki Cross is a terrific professional wrestler, and if her “Almost a Super Hero” gimmick isn’t for you, it’s worth noting she devised it herself and obviously has a lot of time performing it.

So to that end, Nikki A.S.H becoming Raw Women’s Champion seemed like good news. This was a Money In The Bank moment done more or less right. She was an outside bet to win the briefcase but not a ridiculous choice. It was a popular move, and when she won the belt from Charlotte Flair the next night it was a genuine surprise which, for the most part, went down well.

It wasn’t entirely accepted, though, with the divisive persona gaining some boos on the house show circuit. There were a few ways to go about this: push through it; subtly adjust the character; a heel turn (i.e Almost A Super Villain - it writes itself).

Instead, at the following month’s SummerSlam, they had her drop the belt back to Charlotte, padding Flair’s title count further and manoeuvring Nikki a safe distance from the title picture. Will she re-climb the ladder, in this guise or another? Only time will tell, but hopefully, if she does, the office will exercise at least a modicum of patience.
