10 WWE Superstars With The Most To Gain At WrestleMania 31
8. John Cena
Coming out of Fastlane, there might not be a person in a more interesting spot than John Cena. He has clearly taken a bit of a back seat recently, allowing for the story between Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins to unfold. However, he's still John Cena, so it's not like his "demotion" is going to be permanent or anything. At the same time, though, Cena is in position to help "make" Rusev as a future star. Step one of that mission came at Fastlane. Regardless of the low blow and the distraction from Lana, Rusev still defeated Cena in a way that you just don't see WWE's "Golden Boy" lose very often. Think of the big names that Cena has faced in his career. The champions, the legends, the Hall Of Fame members... and think about how many of them have defeated Cena by submission, referee stoppage or otherwise. Now, it looks like we'll be getting a rematch of some sort at Mania. With Cena's history, and with the way their last match ended, a Last Man Standing Match makes sense. There are a lot of people counting on Cena to "do the right thing" and lose again, all but cementing Rusev as a main event player. There are also people who want to see the opposite happen, feeling that Cena holding the United States Title is one of the best ways to truly bring prestige back to a title that is often made to look like a joke. Whatever happens, a chunk of Cena's "legacy" at this phase of his career rides on what happens at Mania this year. He will gain the respect of many fans if he helps put someone over the way Rusev would be put over with another victory.
