10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Were In TNA
8. Tye Dillinger
It took a long time for Tye Dillinger to make it to the spotlight of WWE’s main roster. Debuting in late 2003 under his original ring name of Shawn Spears, Dillinger made several appearances for WWE before hitting big with the “Perfect 10” gimmick.
The most notable of these was as “Stan” during a segment at Cyber Sunday ‘06, eating a Superkick from Shawn Michaels backstage. He would graduate to WWE ECW for a short stint as Gavin Spears in 2008; however, he soon found himself on the unemployment line just one year later.
Nevertheless, Dillinger kept on plugging away…diligently...and soon popped up in TNA, once again appearing as Shawn Spears. Facing off against fellow WWE cast-off, Elijah Burke, Spears would come out on the losing end of their dark match on May 27th, 2009.
Burke gained a contract out of the bout and soon debuted as D’Angelo Dinero three months later. Spears wasn't as lucky and would have to wait another three years to get a another dark match try out in TNA, this time against Joey Ryan. Lightning struck twice for Spears and he was left waiting for the call that never came while Ryan became a TNA regular soon after.
