10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Were In TNA
3. Dean Ambrose
By the time Dean Ambrose made it to WWE's main roster as a member of The Shield, the man beneath the gimmick - Jonathan Good - had been on the independent wrestling circuit for the better part of a decade.
Performing on the indies as Jon Moxley, Good had built up a reputation as an intense wildman with a hardcore style. The Moxley character wasn't too dissimilar to the Ambrose character of today, except the volume was turned way up and the PG shackles of WWE were nowhere to be found.
TNA Wrestling got a glimpse of Moxley prior the Final Resolution PPV at the Impact Zone in late 2008. Wrestling against an little known worker by the name of Dr Lamar Braxton Porter, Moxley won the five minute bout with a swinging DDT; an early incarnation of the eventual double arm version he would use in WWE.
Despite being an untelevised dark match at the time, footage of the bout has since surfaced online. Good's sole outing in TNA is an interesting look into the past of the Dean Ambrose character and a glimpse into what could have been had Jon Moxley signed with TNA.
