The Great Khali came across like an intimidating and imposing figure upon his arrival in WWE in 2006, but that was about all he had going for him. Not even The Undertaker could make him look better than he actually was in the ring, as seen in their their atrocious match at Judgment Day that year.

The idea of pairing Khali off with The Undertaker from the get-go was to establish him as a dominant force on SmackDown, but despite defeating The Deadman that night, it was near-impossible for fans to take him seriously. It was painfully apparent he was far from ready for that type of push and thus his one-sided showings against Undertaker accomplished nothing.

Their feud unfortunately ran through the summer, as WWE didn't want to give up on the idea of Khali as SmackDown's biggest monster heel so soon. Once Khali was pulled from their scheduled Punjabi Prison match at The Great American Bash for health reasons, a rematch contested under Last Man Standing rules was held soon after and was won by Undertaker.

To his credit, Khali lasted a lot longer in WWE than many expected, but had the company taken their time with him and not rushed him into that spot with 'Taker, he likely would have been a bigger success story.
