At first, there was plenty of buzz surrounding long-awaited Batista's WWE return in early January 2014. When it became apparent he was going to be taking Daniel Bryan's deserved spot in the main event of WrestleMania 30, however, fans turned on him. He was booed relentlessly to the point where WWE was forced to turn him heel, but even after he put over Bryan at 'Mania as well as The Shield at the next two pay-per-views, fans refused to give him the props he earned. Although Batista "quit" WWE on the June 2 edition of Raw, he reportedly remains under contract to the company through 2016. It was believed he'd take time off to promote "Guardians of the Galaxy" and be back in WWE by the fall, but it's been well over a year since his on-air departure and he has yet to make a comeback. This is likely due to his acting career taking off after the immense success of GOTG, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't ever return to the squared circle. Batista's passion for the business is well-documented, as was his displeasure with the Creative Team during his latest stint. If he wasn't put in a position to fail, he'd consider one last run before retiring as an active competitor at the age of 46. He's also in line for a one-on-one championship match in storyline, so there's a chance we see him back in WWE before the end of 2015 as WrestleMania season gets underway.
