8. Nia Jax - Raw Women's Championship
Nia Jax may not have gotten her hands on the NXT Women's Championship, but she still had a good run with the brand. The rookie immediately became a major player, and while her size gave her an advantage, she showed a fast acuity when in came to in-ring performance. Bayley and Asuka both turned back title challenges from her, but she learned a lot in those bouts.
She was brought to Raw in the WWE draft, and since then, she's mostly been biding her time and squashing local talent. Still, a feud with Sasha Banks has recently been teased, and that looks like a sign that Raw is ready to start using Jax to her full potential.
In 2017, it would be great to see Jax capture gold in the form of the Raw Women's Championship. Though Raw has already had a long-reigning heel champion in Charlotte, putting the belt on a bully heel like Jax would allow for a different kind of match to headline the division, and it would make a star out of whomever eventually beat her.
