4. Mom Jeans

Oh Alexa Bliss, you tinker.

Ahead of their disappointing Raw Women's Title match between the best heel in the division and the typically capable Mickie James, the Champion was asked by Charley Caruso backstage to provide some final thoughts.

It seemed as though the idle pontification may be an opportunity for the company to pull-back on the roundly criticised anti-age storyline they've dared to employ in this era of empowerment and 'revolution'. Snark aside, the barbs defied logic. At 38, Mickie is only two years older than Finn Bálor, and two younger than AJ Styles. What were those two up to tonight?

Anyway, Bliss spat out the usual bile, stopping only to note that as a mother, that 'must be why (James) wears Mom jeans'. It was innocuous enough compared to some of the other scripted remarks recently...until Mickie made her entrance clad head-to-toe in denim.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. If it was an ad-lib, Bliss needs both a pat on the back and a stern talking to for going to the Shawn Michaels 1997 back of tricks, but if it was fed to her by an eagle-eyed writer and green-lit by the main McMahon himself...then on matters of true equality, this organisation is beyond help.
