10 WWE Tweaks Triple H Needs To Make Quickly
5. Get Value From The Old Guard
There are ways to use bona fide WWE stars and legends that not only keeps them fresh for a new audience, but also gives more to the new wave of talent than it takes from them. The way WWE has booked Randy Orton alongside Riddle is the blueprint.
For too long, the stars of yesteryear have always been perceived as greater than the new school, which has been to the product's detriment. Remember The Fiend before Goldberg crushed him in Saudi Arabia? Credible. By placating to the egos of the old guard, WWE has undermined the current stars.
But there is value in having veterans on the show. Orton has, arguably, never been as over as a babyface, has emerged as the hottest of hot tags, and by association, Riddle has been elevated to the top of the card. That's the value that Triple H needs to see and find in the rest of the stalwarts on the roster.
Edge isn't a spooky dude, so instead of appeasing his desire to grimace at the camera, they could seriously elevate someone alongside him. AJ Styles is another one who has proven, by making Omos relevant, that he has the clout to pull people up with him. Beyond the match graphic, Edge vs. AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38 was a waste of what both men can offer.
Along with Rey Mysterio, the new WWE Head of Creative has a batch of legendary stars who could really help usher in a new era.
