10 WWE Tweaks Triple H Needs To Make Quickly
4. Re-Think The Women's Tag Titles
In principle, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships are a great idea, and it was a natural and progressive step for a division that has never been treated better. In practice, they have been a disaster.
By never planning beyond the initial crowning of Bayley and Sasha Banks, WWE quickly poured water on the idea and it has never recovered. Even during the 'Golden Role-Models' storyline during 2020, the Tag Titles were the least of Banks or Bayley's concerns.
The issue is, there are no tag teams, which makes the division moot. The Kabuki Warriors were the nearest to a credible team, but most holders of the belts have just been thrown together. Bliss and Cross. Baszler and Jax. Banks and Naomi.
By having no credible teams, the titles were doomed pretty quickly. Maybe it's time for Triple H - who helped nurture a new breed of women's wrestling into the company - to rethink the concept and hold fire on bringing the belts back until there is a plan, and more importantly, a division in place.
As a side note, as Head of Talent Relations, fingers crossed Hunter can bring both Sasha Banks and Naomi back from the situation they find themselves in. If WWE is looking to rebuild the division, then having two of the best women in wrestling on the roster will certainly help.
