When you somehow manage to outshine The Rock, you know you've done well. Take a bow, Triple H and Mick Foley, because that's precisely what both did at the 2000 Royal Rumble. Aided by the backdrop of Madison Square Garden (the old MSG, no less), Triple H and Cactus Jack produced a sensational Street Fight that topped Dwayne Johnson's big moment.

Everything was perfect. The story going in was tense and laced with moments fans of Foley could use as excuses to punch the air in delight. Their hero was going to storm into New York and put that big-nosed git who married the boss's wife in his place. Or not, and that was the most emotional part of it all.

Jack's never say die attitude giving way to Triple H's cerebral brilliance and hidden toughness weaved a tale the Rumble was never going to beat. There's a reason some who lived through this era count the 2000 Rumble as a favourite, and it has to do more with this Street Fight than what happened next.

Sorry, Rocky.
