6. Randy Orton
Why It Should Happen: 'The Viper versus The Rattlesnake' - catchy title, huh? More than a catchy title, this would be another first time meeting. Orton is currently on a hot run as a babyface, but prefers to work as a heel. Given the opportunity to face Austin at 'Mania, Orton would no doubt jump at the chance. In the ring, Austin will be in no safer a pair of hands than Orton's: a total pro, Orton is so safe and good that he'd be one of the best bets to get a genuinely decent match out of Austin these days. In terms of what storyline they would run with, it's a bit tricky. A simple build of the RKO versus the Stone Cold Stunner is one route they could go down. Or, if they really want to build it into something bigger, Austin and Orton have previous history. Austin delivered a stunner to Orton during the main event of Cyber Sunday 2008 and Orton was the man who got the pin to 'banish Austin from the WWE forever' at the 2003 Survivor Series (he returned a month later). Not major incidents, no, but WWE have been happy to retcon history before. What Are The Chances: It's difficult to say. Who knows where Orton will be, character wise, nine months from now. In the ring, Austin versus Orton would probably be decent, but it also lacks that real must-see feel that a match against The Rock, Undertaker or Batista would carry. Putting Austin in the ring with Orton would probably be a waste in most fans' eyes.
